It's not unusual for speeding cars to flip over, but it is uncommon for them to flip over on to the roof of a house.
That's what happened early Sunday morning in Houston around 3 a.m. when the 24-year-old driver of an SUV was speeding down the street and didn’t quite make a curve in the road, according to NewsFix.
Instead, the driver -- who may have been drinking -- went airborne through a wood fence, landed on top of one house and flipped over onto the house next to it.
It was quite a wakeup call for Susan Mistini, who thought someone was breaking into her home, until an official on the scene informed her otherwise.
"I said, 'What's going on?' And he said, 'Hurry up, there's a car in your roof,'" Mistini said, according to Click2Houston.com.
Emergency crews rescued the driver and transported him to a hospital where he is in stable condition.
Although his name has not been released, his sister told KSAT-TV that he's going to be fine.
The house is another matter: A crane was needed to remove the SUV from Mistini's roof and there is gas leaking into the home, NewsFix reported.
Charges have not been filed against the driver, according to AZCentral.com.
