The substance - believed to be semen - was found in two separate incidents and cops believe the attacks may be linked to four others in the same area
Police fear a man who throws animal semen at girls has struck again after two teenagers found a white substance on their clothes.
Two schoolgirls had a sticky liquid smeared or sprayed on their clothing in the last month in the Unsworth area of Bury, Greater Manchester.
The victims described their attacker as a white man aged between 20 to 40 and between 5ft 9in and 5ft 10in tall.
Officers believe the attacks may be linked to four similar incidents in the Bury area between November 2009 and January 2010.
On each occasion, a teenage girl was approached by a man and later discovered a sticky white substance on her skirt or tights.
Those attacks took place in Unsworth, Whitefield, Bury and Prestwich and the offender described as white, aged between 25 and 35 and carrying a bag.
Three years ago, Greater Manchester Police issued this video clip of a man they wanted to speak to regarding the investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Sara Wallwork said today: "Specially trained officers have been speaking to and supporting the two victims as part of the investigation and inquiries are ongoing.
"Due to the similar nature of these incidents, we are considering the possibility that they are linked although we are keeping an open mind.
"We are well aware that these incidents are very similar to a serious of incidents in Bury three years ago.
"Understandably there will be concerns due to the similarity.
"We are taking these incidents very seriously and together with the local authority we are engaging with local schools.
"We are reviewing the original investigation and keeping an open mind as to the possibility that the same man may be responsible.
"I ask anyone with information that may help this investigation to please call us."
